Bioshock Infinite Review (ThisisXbox)

ThisisXbox writes: "1912 is not exactly a positive time in American history. As you will see plastered all over the game. Racist propaganda is littered all over the streets of Columbia. Youre introduced to this facet of the city almost immediately as you win a raffle. Your prize, you get to be the first to throw a baseball at a black and Irish interracial couple. This kind of subject matter may be a little touchy for some, but it does wonders in showing just the kind of evil mindset that Comstock is using to indoctrinate the citizens of Columbia. One of the most harrowing moments of the game sees you fly over a slave camp watching black and Chinese workers sing their troubles away. It could be seen as social commentary as segregation is a part of this highly religious world. Religion plays a huge role in the game. Every solitary citizen of Columbia is driven by a prophecy that has been seen by Zachary Comstock. But there are those that dont believe in the prophecy."

"Bioshock Infinite has unequivocally managed to step out of the massive shadow cast by the first Bioshock, and has resoundingly planted its flag and claimed new ground with the creative innovations it has engineered. Irrational Games has become exceedingly masterful when it comes to making linear story driven games which present a sense of freedom not easily attained in open world games, and that is simply amazing. That the developers chose not to rest on their well established laurels but to dare to try new inventive things with Infinite really inspires within me great hope that the Bioshock series has a bright future ahead of it."

Bioshock Infinite Review | Canadian Online Gamers

Canadian Online Gamers: "There is no question BioShock Infinite is a no-brainer purchase for fans of the franchise. It undeniably lives up to the hype and delivers about the best 10-hours of a single player campaign I have experienced so far this year. The story, albeit rather complex, is riveting and the gameplay is highly enjoyable. BioShock Infinite also hits home runs in the visual and audio departments. Some of the framerate issues, backtracking, and that nasty glitch I encountered when I ran into the first fireman, cast somewhat of a shadow over the entire experience though. I also wish the game could have also been experienced in the form of a co-op mode. Nevertheless, at the end of the day BioShock Infinite is an excellent game and one where you should get your moneys worth."

Bioshock Infinite is a game that built on the foundations laid out by the original but manages to inject its own individuality. Its clear that infinite is a vast improvement over the original. Its a faster pace than the original but still carries the sense of dread and explorations.

Bioshock Infinite Review | Ghost Volta

Spencer of Ghost Volta writes: "The rumor of a Bioshock movie has been floating around the Internet for some time now, and said rumor was rather distressing to me. Not that I dont adore Bioshock and its underwater utopia-turned-dystopia Rapture Bioshock is easily one of my favorite games ever but because Bioshock is one of those rare titles that uses the video game medium to deliver an experience so authentic, so well-crafted, and so unique that experiencing it in any other medium would simply not do it justice. The highest compliment that I can give Bioshock Infinite is that it, too, belongs in that same echelon of game."
